Sharp Sample Tape

Sample Cassette Front

The Sharp Company of Japan made this sample tape in 1983. These demonstration tapes had music on one side and were blank on the other. This way you could test out the sound quality of the playback and recording functions within the shop.

I still use this for testing out some of my vintage walkmans and it sounds fantastic. Most people will remember the familiar design of this demo sample tape and it might take their memories back to the past.

These tapes did not come with a case, but were stored within a recessed slot of the polystyrene packaging. If you ever bought a Sharp Radio Cassette Recorder, then it may very well have had one of these lodged within the packaging.

The total running length of the tape was half an hour (15 minutes per side) and the quality of the ferric material was high grade providing excellent sound reproduction.
